I plan on getting a couple of these myself. Just that little bit of insurance until you can get to the gas you prefer. For me, that is non-ethanol 91. Not on every corner.
They say NOT to carry gas. I've read reports where someone goes down, has a gas can that ruptures and results in a pool of gas at the accident scene. Last thing you'd want after getting busted up is getting barbecued too.
Most long distance riders will use a frame mounted metal tank that has a fuel line connected to the fuel system.
I bought 2 of those Reda tanks this winter. I'm gonna take my chances.
That's to cool, first time ever seen it. Could have used it last summer on a ride through the mountains in Arkansas. I almost ran out of gas NO gas stations anywhere.
They're **** 'til someone blasts into your rearend at a stop, spews gas all over Bejeesus , and a spark occurs! No thank you. I'll go to the hospital if needed, just not to the burn ward.

I carry a Reda can in my RG saddlebag. Peace of mind on long trips especially if I'm traveling solo. Even comes in handy locally when friends run out of gas.
I use 4 red metal MSR bottles with the screw on caps you find in the camping section. I would guess the cans are 1/2 liter each so I am carrying 2 liters total, so just over 1/2 gallon. I have a carbed bike so I go on reserve before I run out. But it is good to have a little extra especially out west and in the plains states.
I mount them across the top of my Tbag facing back and strapped with reflective elastic straps.
I don't fill them to the top to allow for expansion. I've never had a problem with them leaking.
I live dangerously though. Hell I even plug my motorcycle tires and continue to ride them. LOL........
