I just picked up my 2013 Road Glide Ultra. WooHoo!! But....it needs a set of pipes. I am looking for something with a good deep sound but not ear bustin loud. I had monster ovals on my evo, they were pretty good? Maybe something better out there? Any suggestions.
Anybody heard of "CFR" (Cary Faas racing) slip ons. I youtubed the fuel moto jackpot pros and like the way they sound. I found CFR's that sound pretty good too and I like the way they look. Also...will I need to have my bike re-programmed with the addition of slip ons?
why not put on some xied's for starters? they will richen up the AF ratio. losing the cat and the new mufflers and adding the xied's might work fine until you do cams and dyno...then you will need a better tuner.
Well, I put Bub7 X-over's with Stealth mufflers on my 2012 RGU. The X-over gives better back pressure than the standard 2:2. The mufflers meet EPA for noise. Its louder than stock and a very deep rumble. Going down the freeway they are quiet and you can hear the stereo fine at 70 (if that's what you do - I use headsets)
Personally I like touring bikes to be on the quiet side. Now my dyna is another story
I use headsets too. Not looking to go the way of cams and all that. Just wanting a better sound. I have heard that the new bikes will adjust themselves for A/F ratio when you add slipons. They say there are no stupid questions....I hope I am not challenging that theory.

I just put on V&H Dresser Duals with 4" Jackpot DynoTuned Mufflers. They sound awesome. They're bassy, mellow when cruising and bark when I crack the wick. They're not too loud either way. My previous exhaust was a ThunderHeader 2 into 1, which sounded good but was constantly loud.
