So educate an old knuckle dragger ....
2) i don't (didn't when stock) have decel pop, my tbw doesn't lag, and i didn't have to go to the dealer for my improvements.
3) what is so 'poorly thought out' about the security system?
4) i've had no issue with compensators on the 4 tcs i've owned.
5) the control of your own mechanical destiny is taken away'.... no, it isn't. you just have to get with the times. no, you aren't going to be able to fix your points on the side of the road with a matchbook anymore, and just because something is more modern than a kickstart, doesn't make it a goldwing wannabee.
2) I hear it all the time, always from a Twinkie. I've ridden TBW, and helped a guy with a bad starter clutch bump start his bike. It lags, and that's an example of when you'll notice it.
3) I've had to haul bikes home for friends who have had their security shut down, because of a dead fob or something in the system got wet.
4) Again, well documented on this forum. Not the type of thing that should cause trouble, but IT DOES. I've had no compensator issues on my Evo or Shovel either, in the time you've gone through four TC's and well before they existed.
5) It's great that you have the ability, equipment, and software to help yourself, but those aren't simple toolbag items anymore. It's a calculated adjustment made in a controlled evironment. The Goldwing wannabe comment was to illustrate that Goldwings can't be easily worked on either, but generally don't need it. The wannabe part is the differences I just mentioned above. TC's got more bugs and been through more internal design changes than any recent motor in production.
I'm glad you like yours...but I'm letting this generation go on by. Yeah, yeah I know...it's about CVO's. I heard the bearing cages are better than stock. Sorry for the semi-hijack.
Thanks you to the 4 usual suspects who picked up on that little detail and actually said something pertaining to it and you guys know who you are
And for you peeps who don't care for the " Twinkie " destination I suggest you take a man pill and get over it as that one's about set in stone , I didn't invent the term just use it where it fits and it surely does fit them .

Two kids in their early 20's were cleaning up a 1947 Knuckle that had a For Sale sign on it.
I asked them about the bike and they were clueless and gave off the vibe of either a stolen bike or selling an uncle's or grandpappy's bike without permission.
Not so much now, as they are fairly abundant and accessible to anyone with the $$$.
Now that description is owned by Shovel riders.
And Evo riders are getting there too. (you really should try out an Evo, TwiZt. You may be suprised

So what I'm picking up from all this is the MoCo mothership is pulling it's usual jump a bandwagon tactic and started marketing a factory stock already customized bike to the great lilac soap smelling masses so they don't have to touch it themselves ? Am I getting that right ?
Harley has a long history of watching what people do to new bikes and low and behold within a couple years they drop a new model on the market with all the popular mods as stock , like the blackout craze .
