So is the OP supposed to buy each of his neighbors one of those?

Also, unless your bike is setting off car alarms as you ride by, it ain't that loud.

And as far as neighbors in Florida do I have stories. . . But the statute of limitations hasn't run so I'll be quiet.

No wonder some people here feel intimidated when they post.
Thank you! I was thinking the same thing. No matter how smart or educated someone is, there's always someone smarter or better educated that could easily embarrass them.

To the OP. If it's the 5 month old baby you're worried about, can you roll the bike out of the driveway far enough where it wouldn't wake him/her?

I don't mind spelling errors, but, what the hell does adishion mean?

OP,

We also just had a baby (he's 11 months now). I do the same as everyone else seems to be saying. I get on all of my gear. Get on the bike, start it, and ride of not much above idle. Once I'm a block away, I ride like the wind.

I'm hoping my kid will find the sound of my bike soothing at some point. But he hasn't woken up to the sound of my bike yet, and it's got a stage one with loud pipes.

Start bike, let it run for a minute. Push kill switch to "Off". Roll throttle back all the way. Push kill switch to "On".
After about a week, stop doing it. Quiet is relative.

If it is the stock exhaust ---it is quiet. Push it to the end of the driveway. If it isn't stock. Reinstall stock exhaust---it will sound like a honda.

I would just start it up and ride easy out of the neighborhood. unless the bike is obnoxiously loud nobody should be complaining.

Years ago I lived in a neighborhood with all duplexes. They all had a narrow alleyway between them. A guy down the street had an old Ironhead Sporty that he kept parked in the alley. He's start that beast up at 5:30am and it would be popping and backfiring. Sounded like a shotgun going off. The guy would be revving the crap out of it to try and keep it running. sitting in between two houses, that thing echoed thoughout the whole neighborhood. I would just lay in bed laughing my A** off, I'm sure there were neighbors that wanted to shoot him.

For anyone needing translation:

nabors = neighbors
tempararly = temporarily
quit = quiet
adishion = addition
mite = might
steal = steel
barley = barely

To those getting on my case for being a "grammar ****"..........I believe this goes much farther than just poor grammar. The incorrect usage of an apostrophe is one thing...but seriously?

And you people who say "it doesn't matter how he types, we get the point", you're part of the problem with this society.

Unless the OP is deaf.................. then I will continue doing this
