ya, that's pretty presumptuous for someone to jam in the same space as you. Maybe you didn't take up the whole space. I park dead center on the outside of the space so there's no option to try to squeeze in on either side or the end. 'course these big twins tend to take up a whole space anyway.
Seems like a lot of conversation over nothing. Never had that problem because I can always see my bike when I park it somewhere. Had people share my spot that I don't know. Even helped them get parked and changed the angle of my bike in the parking slot for them to make room. Not uncommon at rally's and some crowded events. Had riders direct me to park near them at crowded events. Common courtesy's. Also seen ****** guard oil stains just because they thought it was their sacred parking space with that extra four feet on each side.
Why not go back in, find the guy and say "hey dude, do you mind moving your bike. Ya got me blocked in." If he says "sorry" and moves it, no harm-no foul. If he's a douche, just say "Ok, sorry I bothered you, I'll find a way to get out. Thanks!" Either way, he'll come out and move it.
I've done this before and never had an issue with the owner moving his bike. I would not be happy with someone touching my bike, but then again I would not block someone in.
I went to lunch, rode up on a parking space right up front, parked, went inside to eat. When I left I walked out to find some guy with a blacked out ape hanger had parked in the same spot. OK no problem but he blocked me in! I had to keep inching back and forth to maneuver my way out and still so tight I had to tilt my bike to get across his pegs. Really?
I would have moved his bike...end of story....if he want's to get pissy about it so be it. I have been to many big bike events where if you ain't blocking, you ain't parking ...seen my bike moved many times...never bothered me....and I would love to see some of these tuff guys try to keep from being blocked in by parking sideways at a big event...
around here locally never had a problem with that, mos tall parking i do is at wal-mart or on the main drag. on the main drag i back into spots and most people go out of there way to avoid gettign to close to me or my bike except buddy's i ride with. the wal-mart has mroe then ample parking and the manager knows i have a permit to park i nthe blue spot's so doesnt say nothing when i park in beside them in the stripped zone so as to not take up a blue zone but still park close to the door.
in the city i got parked to close to once, so i leaned down and pulled one of his plug boots off
None of you have parked on Main Street at Sturgis or Daytona have you.
Sturgis, yep, I have more than once. About 10 years ago some tension developed between the Hell's Angels and the Bandidos. One dissed the other and it went from there. The Angels were on the sidewalk, the Bandidos in the center of the street double row parking. I went to get my bike and one of the Angels was sitting on it. Right about then an Elvis impersonator rode right up in the middle of the face-off and broke into song. The tension broke and the Pres of the HA's Germany Chapter walked out and shook the hand of the Pres of the Bandidos New Mexico chapter. Elvis saved the day.
If any of you guys were there and remember that you know what I'm talking about.
