Default Speedometer accuracy...

How can I test this without paying the stealer? There is a discrepancy between Scootergrrls speedo and mine, and I wanna know which is closer to correct. There used to be a speedo sign onthe side of the road up on Malibu canyon, bt it doesn't work anymore...Anyone?

Have Scootergrrl dirve next to you in a cage. And have her yell her speed to you out the window.

or go 80 past a cop and see what he clocks you at.

You could always go for the low tech approach. Get on the freeway set speed at sixty. Check you watch as you pass a milepost. If the speedo is correct you will pass the next milepost 60 seconds later.

Borrow a satnav, most of them give an accurate speed reading.

I would take my GPS out on the bike and check it that way. If you don't have one see if someone you know has one you can borrow for 15 minutes.

I have a friend who is a cop. I just had him follow me for a few miles. I checked my highest speed with his and found out my speedo was reading 10 mph slow at 60 mph. Glad I found out this way.

That's the way I've always done it!
