for a fatboy. If i buy the factory kit, is the wiring plug and play into the harness, or is it a bit complicated. My signals are on the side of the forks and would have to be taken off. IS this just a simple install. I am thinking it is, but want to make sure before I invest in the lamps...
I ordered mine for my sporty which I'm sure are real similar to the FB. I chickened out over some of the electrical work involved. I read the instructions several times and thought I could handle everything else. Wound up having it done by the dealer. I would feel more comfortable about the job now as I've done some work on the bike and have a better idea of where things are. I'm betting you can do it.
So the real question is does it have a plug in plug for the harness? I can handle shrink wrapping some wiring or taking apart connectors, no prob, just curious...
I can't answer your question Anubisss, but I can say that it makes a great difference once those passing lamps go on. I saw a tumbleweed at the last possible second to swerve away from because my headlight just wasn't giving me the side anglelighting I needed to see it. The next day I ordered the passing lamps from the dealer. I see better at night and the periphial vision is greater because it has a wider angle of light with the lamps.
You won't be sorry at all! It was one of the best investments I've made on my bike.
Anubisss. I put them on mine wasnt hard at all. your supposed to pull the yellow wire throught the headlight and splice it in there. shovel head bob told be to just raise up my gas tank and connect it under there which I did with no problem. work great

Put lamps on my fxdlowrider last month, went by the instructions and all went well.
Kit included a wiring harness to be mounted along the backbone from lamps to circuit breaker.
Instruction to remove tank were not needed, I could have lifted the tank and run the harness. Would suggest undoing one tank mount andlifting one at a time, front first. I (a rookie) was able replace the kit switch and that part of the harness it was a snap.
wildman67 reminded me of one other thing I was able to pull the wire through the headlamp rubber grommet with ease, I used my wife's crochette hook, got it first time.
