Default Navello splice kit question

This is probably a really dumb question here, but I'm stumped, (not that it takes alot to stump me). I'm in the process of changing my bars from stock to 12.5" apes on my 99 fatboy. I've been looking at options for lengthening my electrical wires, & have been looking at the Navello kits. I'm not sure that I understand how they work by just looking at the pics of them. It says no soldering or splicing, & I see that they have a male end & a female end on the wires. Do they just plug into the back side of the male plug, & then into the front side of the female plug, or am I missing something here? If they simply fill in the gap between the 2 plugs, what's the shrink tubing for, other than to hold the wires together? The kit I saw is 12" long & my local Indy says that won't be long enough, but it looks like it would work just fine to me. Any insight to this kit would be appreciated. Thanks.
Frank

I just put 14" apes on my Deluxe and a 12" Namz extension was plenty long. You have to take the wiring connectors apart from the actual wires and then the extension wires plug on, heat shrink the connecting and then reassemble the connectors on the other end of the extensions. Mine worked great.

Do yourself a favor and solder the connections together then do the shrink wrap over that. Also, stagger the point of each wire where the connection is made. That will make it easier to feed the wire through the bars. Take your time and you will very pleased with the results!

Hardhead is correct. Anything i do on my bike or boat is soldered and heat shrinked only way to go.

If your going to solder the wires together here's a trick that might make the process a little easier.

I made my own extenders. Bought the male/female pins from local HD. Plugged them in and shrink tubing. Maybe overkill, but like it better then soldering. Much neater. But, pretty sure HD or local shops just cut, and solder.
