Just curious if anyone else noticed that after wrapping their pipes, that their bike ran hotter? Especially the rear cylinder. I wrapped v&h short shots with the Dei titanium wrap.
If it's running hotter, I haven't noticed it.
Stop and go traffic while at the Laughlin River Run, it was hot. The stock pipes would have been hot there though.
P.S. just saw you were referring to wrapped pipes. It should be cooler from every post by those who've wrapped their pipes.
The engine should run better with the wrapped pipes, but the issue I found with wrapped pipes is that the metal gets really brittle and starts flaking off. I had a S-15 Jimmy with a 350 and wrapped the shorty headers. After about 6 months I had to replace them as they were disintegrating under the wrap.
The pipes were a few years old when first wrapped. They also happen to be ceramic coated. Even though it looks like 3 years the bike was in pieces for most of 1 of those years, so overall it was only ridden a little over 2 years before breaking. They were rode hard.
