Naaa, they look chromed and clean, maybe the guy wanted shinier than stock.

Some great responses here. I looked at the Accutronix page and that's what it appears to be.
It could have been in a accident, I don't know. I got it for a great price; traded for a sportster even out. I think maybe it has a little more rake (what do you think) and that's what the person was going for; at least I hope so. I checked out the bike well before I made the deal and it doesn't look to have been hurt. If it was it must have been minor. Like you said, maybe just the front end. Maybe the previous owner just wanted a different look.
