I wanted a large bike with good ground clearance because I'm a heavy guy. And while I'm mostly riding just for fun, 2-3 hours at a time on country roads, the Road King keeps the option open to strip off the bags and fairing in a few minutes, or take a weekender if I choose. I knew I wanted the abs brakes and security and I like the leather bags, so going with the classic was the perfect choice. And when I test road the bike I was very pleased with the ride.
FLHTC because I bought the bike for 2 up riding/touring. I suppose I could have gotten a SG and added a tour pack or even gone with a RK but it was cheaper and easier to get what I want going with an Electraglide from the start.
The 75 sporty - 'cause it was 600 bucks and I got to build it into exactly what I wanted at the time. A light, loud, chopped, bar-to-bar bike.
The 84 FXR - The best handeling big twin that HD has ever made. Loved the rubber mount and the 5 speed, rides started getting a lot longer with more highway.
The 89 FLHT - wanted a highway bike that I could do lots of touring on.
The 11 SG - wanted the new frame, ABS, the 103 and the 6 speed , makes eating miles day after day a friggin joy.
Wait...I was just gonna say the same thing about my '12 Heritage...it just fits me well and it's comfy too. It has the most comfortable OEM seat I've ever put my *** on.
