I was torn between the FXDC and the Fatboy. Before I made a decision my uncle's shovel fell in my lap. I will eventually get a later model but I will absolutely never get rid of my shovel.
I just think its the best looking bike. It has a classic bike look. Also it's easy and fun to ride.
Maybe I'll get a bigger bike someday but for now this is the perfect bike
I love sportsters, been one of Harleys best bike over the years, Not many Harleys I don't like , I really like the softail one of the best looking bike Harley makes IMO, but been wanting to add a RG or a EG.
So many bikes, so little money. Love just about every bike HD makes. The 48 with its big front wheel. The Dyna's, Soft tails but mostly the touring. Love my Road King and have a ton of money into it between mods and mechanical/motor work.
Plenty I would like to have quoted on this thread with awesome bikes but just too many. If I could afford more I would have the 48, Road Glide, Springer, Classic, Breakout and a couple I am not thinking about due to watching my Penguins kick butt.
I'd always admired the Softail Standards, so when I found a low mileage one at a good price I grabbed it. The seller is a friend of mine and I was aware of the care he'd given it. I dig the ride even after lowering it 2" in the rear, and it was nearly a blank canvas to work with.
Also own a '01 XL1200C and I ride it a lot. When I was a kid and looking at magazine ads for Harleys, it was the Sportster that caught my eye. Quick, nimble, and it's an EVO.
Seems like I ride on the Sportster, but in the Softail.
2010 Ultra, I had been riding for 30+ years, kids were grown, wife and I wanted to start doing some long, multi-day and multi-week, road trips. For 5 years I looked at every touring bike made and kept coming back to the Ultra. It supplied what I wanted plus I could customize myself since I do all my own work.
