I have two a sportster and a FatBoy, like riding them both. I do find myself riding the sportster more.

I already own a top-of-the-line touring/custom Ultra... If I could afford two bikes, #2 would be a bad-*** cruiser Fat Boy... (I have owned a Triumph and had a LOT of fun on it... GREAT back-road/cornering 'firsky' bike)...

I will be completely honest and say I miss my nightster like crazy! That bike was super fun to scoot around on.

I almost have my OL convinced to get a bike. Bet you'll never guess what I'm pushing her towards...

Why? Because it is fun. I have a black Super Glide and a black XL1200L. The Dyna is "Big Brother" and the Sportster is "Little Brother".

They go with a Softail Deuce and a Softail Cutom balanced off by a Night Rod Special.

The Ultra is balanced with a RGC and A RGC CVO is needed because neither of the other two touring bikes are CVO's.

The XR1200 was needed because it has most of the motor parts from the Buell Ulysses XB12XT.

Since none of those are good in mud and snow a Ural Patrol with sidecar and 2WD is necessary.

Now that all seem logical and sane to me but my wife thinks that I am crazy.

I try to get in 30K a year but I don't think that will every wear any of the 11 bikes out in my lifetime at 2 to 3K/yr on each bike.

How many bikes does anyone need? One more that what they have just like guns.

You have 2 nice bikes, somewhat similar, but that's fine. I have the Road King, and a Gold Wing GL1800. I ride the HD more often, but when I'm gonna be on a road trip, the GL1800 rules. For a long 2up trip, out comes the Bushtec trailer on the wing.
Best of both worlds for us.

Nothing wrong with having two bikes, I'd have more if it was in the paycheques. I'm really enjoying the new street glide, no regrets whatsoever but man am I glad I held on to the fatboy. Had the fatboy out today and loved every minute of it, I would be tearing myself up if I'd have let it go.

I'd love to find an older evo softail or dyna that I could completely frankenstein into one of the bikes in my head, again once the paycheques can handle it.

I wasted wayyyy to much time trying to justify the 2nd bike to myself, should have got it years ago. I say if you want it, and it don't take food off yer family's plates, go for it. Even if it's 2 of the same model, same year but different colour, I say go for it and ride them both. A lot.

It's a slippery slope. For almost twelve years I owned only one bike, the '00 FXDL. Then in 2011 I pick up a 2010 RG. Just a little over a year later, I bought the third bike, a Ducati Diavel.

Hopefully I'm finished. At least for a while.

I can understand having all you can afford / have a use for.
Just can't make myself like the way touring bikes look / not my thing no matter how nice they are.

I have two bikes now....
In a couple years i plan to add a wide glide with a springer front end to the mix.

You don't need a touring bike to "tour" i'm riding the xbones from dallas TX to sturgis this year no hotels camping off the bike the whole time from july 26 ~aug11
