I already own a top-of-the-line touring/custom Ultra... If I could afford two bikes, #2 would be a bad-*** cruiser Fat Boy... (I have owned a Triumph and had a LOT of fun on it... GREAT back-road/cornering 'firsky' bike)...

You have 2 nice bikes, somewhat similar, but that's fine. I have the Road King, and a Gold Wing GL1800. I ride the HD more often, but when I'm gonna be on a road trip, the GL1800 rules. For a long 2up trip, out comes the Bushtec trailer on the wing.
Best of both worlds for us.
Nothing wrong with having two bikes, I'd have more if it was in the paycheques. I'm really enjoying the new street glide, no regrets whatsoever but man am I glad I held on to the fatboy. Had the fatboy out today and loved every minute of it, I would be tearing myself up if I'd have let it go.
I'd love to find an older evo softail or dyna that I could completely frankenstein into one of the bikes in my head, again once the paycheques can handle it.
I wasted wayyyy to much time trying to justify the 2nd bike to myself, should have got it years ago. I say if you want it, and it don't take food off yer family's plates, go for it. Even if it's 2 of the same model, same year but different colour, I say go for it and ride them both. A lot.

It's a slippery slope. For almost twelve years I owned only one bike, the '00 FXDL. Then in 2011 I pick up a 2010 RG. Just a little over a year later, I bought the third bike, a Ducati Diavel.
I can understand having all you can afford / have a use for.
Just can't make myself like the way touring bikes look / not my thing no matter how nice they are.
I have two bikes now....
In a couple years i plan to add a wide glide with a springer front end to the mix.
You don't need a touring bike to "tour" i'm riding the xbones from dallas TX to sturgis this year no hotels camping off the bike the whole time from july 26 ~aug11
