Default Ordered HD Service Manual

I ordered my HD Serviced manual today. Ready to start servicing and wrenching on my bike myself. I'm sure there's a nice learning curve but I'm excited. Should be able to save myself 3 or 4 dollars and have some fun in the process.

Impatiently waiting for it's arrival

Now get ready to spend money on tools!

Good purchase. Mine has paid for itself 100 times over...and I don't think that is an exageration.

I also purchased a service manual for my 2005 RKC. It has already paid for itself several times over. I can not say enough about the quality of the manual and the benefit of owning one.

I am very far from a mechanic and yet find the manual very exhaustive and clear.

I think that you did a good thing by getting the service manual. With the shop rates as high as they are, you should save yourself some money on repairs or mods. I also realize that tools cost money, but I think that working on your own bike will help a lot in the long run.

My last oil change ran me over $100, including the Syn3 all around.

- The service manual was about $60.
- My own oil is going to be about $7 to $8 (padding) per quart.
- Tools were bought a long time ago for oh $300 to $400 for my humble little toolbox.

The peace of mind of knowing..
- my primary chain was infact checked,
- my cables SURE ENOUGH were lubed,
- they didn't leave half the crappy old oil in there...

PRICELESS!!

I just got a self-help DVD titled 'Fix My Hog - Touring Edition'. Lots of good stuff on it.

Great commercial, Babs. I gotta wonder sometimes just how many don't get done right cause the people will never know?
