I installed one a few years back. I think it is a nice safety feature to have. As he mentioned in the video it is only on with high beam. Off with low. I don't have it on all the time, but it does make you more visible when you do feel the need. I forget what brand I used.
When I bought my 1998 Valkyrie it had one on it. It went out and I did not replace it. Because. When it was activated and flashing. People thought it was an emergency vehicle. When i would get close enough that they could see it was not an emergency vehicle they would just pull out in front of me. So. it turned out to be a liability instead of an asset. Just run with head light on. Which is law in most states. Accept the fact that all except 2 wheelers are out to kill ya.
I've been using one for years on all my bikes. It definitely makes you more visible. It is not a magic bullet, but it is a good tool.
Some do think you are an emergency vehicle, but I have never had one pull out in front of me when they realized I wasn't. But I've never ridden in Waco.
