I have a KBC modular that they gave me when I bought my bike. I absolutely love it. I have plenty of clearance with my sunglasses on. Plus, I can lift it up and talk to my buds or grab something to drink without having to take the helmet off. Since my accident I feel safer with the full face, but I don't think the transition would have been as good with a regular full face. Modular is the way to go.
I normally wear a half helment but i do have a modular helment for cold / rainey weather and like it. I gives me a chance to BREATH at a stop sign / red light. I have a problem wearing a full face all the time, I just can't stand the confinement (long story) so the flip up feature give me a chance to get so air and the protection from the elements at the same time. Now as far as a brand and price thats your choice. I go the quality myself route myself, it would be hard for me to order a helment on line, it aint like a pair of socks! A helment must fit that old melon just right or it will wind up on a shelf some where and the money will be wasted. You got to slip a helment on and get a feel. That comes from many days on the football field. The coach would throw me a helment andthe first thing you know I done stole someoneelses that felt better!
I had a Fulmer Modus and I hated it because it didn't have enough padding and poor air circulation. I got a H-D modular with stealth flames and so far I'm pretty happy with it.
Hi All:
I just bought a new helmet in Nov. The first one I tried on "I thought fit", after a few minutes it felt snug. The sales person said go up a size, I put it on sinched the strap, then she tried moving it around side to side; pushed against the shield simulating wind pressure. It stayed planted, and I didn't feel like I was in a vise. There are 3 companies that make HD's helmets, I bought the one that has the Bar and Shield in the front. Push in on the bar and it opens the vent holes. It's a 3/4 helmet.

Just remember that you get what you pay for with helmets...
That isn't really true as far as safety goes. For comfort, fit & finish and things of that nature sure. When Motorcyclist did a helmet study last year the top rated helmet cost less than a $100 dollars. http://www.motorcyclistonline.com/ge...helmet_review/
