I've sold a few bikes over the years and never let anyone test drive ****.. You tell them they can test drive it when you have the cash in your hand and the bill of sale is signed.
If someone needs to test drive your bike then they probably don't know how to ride.
I buy equipment, trucks and machinery at auctions, none of which is plugged in or test driven... You take your chances or go buy a new one from the dealer,
Period
thanks oldskewl...I was hoping an experience seller would confirm what I was really thinking.
No problem brother, enjoy your new scoot.
For what it's worth, I recently sold my 95 fat boy and went with a 13 SG. It's a great change and a totally different bike. I traded mine in because I didn't want to deal with the public and I got a decent price for my bike and a new SG.
Like most have said sell outright for more money. But that is not always the case. I recently traded in and they gave me a fair price, so the trade in with the tax savings added up to more than I would have sold outright for.
If you sell on your own and the prospective buyer want s test ride have them follow you while you ride it. Just to show them it runs and drives. If that is not enough tell them tough ****. No one rides my bikes.
Traded in an 04 Heritage to a 2012 SG and I can't get over the differences. Night and day.
