I've got a picture of me on a Harley, my dad, my uncle, their best friend, all of us on a 1948 Harley, oh, i was 9months old, LOL.My MOM always wanted me to get a Harley, well, i'd tell her, "sooner than later". She and I would sit in her front yard on the hill, and listen and watch the Harleys come down the state highway past her house. ]You'd have to be there], and lot's of them come by. MOM passed away a couple of months ago, and, i decided, now or never, so i picked up a nice Heritage, Like i tell people, the second i picked up my bike there was one GREAT lady doing a little dance in Heaven!!!And, that i'd bet on. I'll still continue to sit in her front yard and listen and watch them come off the hill, but, now, i can join them!!!

In the early 60's I was sitting at a light on my Honda 360 Scrambler. An older guy on his Harley Electric Glide pulled up next to me, look over and said "better get off that little bike, it will kill you" and roared off. From that time on I just marked time until I too could have a Harley. It took a few years but have now had 3 and could never go back to any of the brand X's. Thats my story and I'm sticking to it.

When I first saw the pictures of my grandfather's.

I don't believe there was a superglide in the 60's.

Guess I was in the Navy back in 78 and a guy in squadron came in one day and parked his new Sporster next to my Honda 450 nighthawk. AllI rememberthinking washow cool that thing looked in it's non-styled, raw, naked self. Thought stayed with me until last August when i got my 07 883R, but that was short lived as I traded it in last month for a new RKC.

I was the first in my family to own a Harley. I really can't pin point why I liked Harleys at a young age, I just always did. I know I liked the sound they make, the riders always look cool, and scary. I always loved the style of HD, all my buddies had Crotch rockets, and I bought a Harley......its just me, it fits me, its what I like.

A neighbor had a Norton 850 Commando, and I fell in love with the sound of those old Brit twins-BSA, Triumph, Norton. HD was the icing on the cake! That unique sound became inbedded in my being.

in the late 70's a buddy of mine was working for a bank and he repo'd a HD Shovelhead Sportster. The kind Bronson rode. Customer was willing to make a voluntary surrender at his residence but on a Sunday. My buddy asked if I would accompany him and then ride the bike back to the bank for safe keeping. My buddy didn't ride scooters at that time. So that is what I did. My impression was that it was a piece of crap. Approx 23 years later I bought a 1200 Sportie as I was rebelling against metric perfection. IN 1996 bought my Dyna Wide Glide which I sold last June. My new Ultra has arrived and is at the dealer but I am procrastinating as the weather is the pits. Also some aprehension that I don't get one of the whiners and clatterers. Oh well...
