Hey guys. New here and looking for some info. Torn between Heritage Softail and a Road King. Reason is, the missus and I are looking for a bike we can both cruise. I've ridden for twenty+ years and ready for a real bike.

We both like the Heritage, but having owned cars with rear air suspension, I know the difference air shocks make. What say you guys?

Thanks in advance...

Unqualifiedly, Road King (based on your choices)... Be sure to get the hard (lockable) saddlebags...

If you are going to be doing a lot of touring SERIOUSLY consider an Ultra/Limited/CVO... It will prolly save you money in the long run and increase your enjoyment/capabilities... I wish I had gone Ultra a LOT sooner...

ABS brakes is a MUST...

I was facing the same exact decision. Started out wanting a Heritage but eventually went with the Road King. I liked the lower seating position on the Heritage but the RK had three things going for it:

1) Smoother engine thanks the the rubber mount
2) Suspension is a lot better
3) More comfort for the passenger who makes buying a bike much easier

I would suggest going with a Road King also.

Totally agree with Chickens. Had a Heritage and the ride is so much better on my RK, especially 2 up. Really the only thing I liked better about the Heritage was the lower seat.

What say you go to a dealership, test ride both and decide for yourself. If not, buy a Street Glide. And a Breakout for me while you're at it.

Softail is a fantastic bike for short trips, and looks great, however for two up riding any distance, the Road King is the superior bike. (Looks great too)

The longer the distance, the more important large saddle bags become.
