I've got that digital oil dipstick that gives you a Temp reading when you push the button on the oil filler cap...
Yesterday it quit working. Does it have a battery that's replaceable? Please don't tell methe entire itemhas to be replaced!
If your digital oil dipstick is an HD, there is one CR-2032 battery inside the unit. You just have to separate the unit at the rubber grommet to get at the battery. Nice of HD to allow a battery replacement on a $135.00 dipstick.
Iwasted my money on the one that does the temp and the level digitaly. It quit being readable after 2 months. I washed my bike and the lcd screen was toast after it fogged up for two days.I did not even soak it! It is a piece of sh*t and I returned it to my dealer and got my money back after they sent it back to Harley. I bought the anolog temp gauge in it's place. I don't mind checking the oil manually anyway since the digital read out was never right anyway.
Did your gauge fog up before it quit? Once water is in there they are toasted as I said. If it quit all of the sudden by all means try a new battery.
It hasn't gotten wet in a couple weeks or more, so i doubt that's it. I'll try the battery mentioned above. This dipstick has been on the bike for about 14 months with no trouble, so maybe that's a record? lol...
Does the analog dipstick/therm fit theElectra Glides? For some reason i thought they were for other model bikes, but maybe I should not assume. I'll check the catalog ref that in case the battery ends up not being it.
I too had the digital readout therm. I took it back!!! JUNK in MHO, and I didn't like having to push a button that I could hardly feel with my heavy gloves on. I put the analog one in..now I just turn my head glance down to read it.

I was wondering the same. Looked on the HD accessories website, didn't see one.
