Denim Black and Pillion Seat

Just ordered a mustang solo and thought about getting the pillion when my wife wants to join. Easier than switching to the stock seat and probably more comfortable for her. BUT, I am concerned that even short rides may cause the pillion to wear the denim paint on the fender, causing it to become shiny. Can't used a clear film to protect the paint like with regular clear coat paint. Would appreciate any comments from you denim black owners that use a pillion or have tried it?

I have had mine on for about 3 months, took it off the other day and it is fine so far. I am really liking this denim paint, easy to clean with windex.

I have a 2013 Fatboy Lo in black denim, and it came standard with a removable pillion seat. When I first removed the pillion I noticed that the fender underneath had a clear protective film mounted underneath, presumably to protect the denim paint. When I ride solo without the pillion, I put on a fender bib that Harley made just for this purpose.

i have a fender bib that i put my pillion on top of. without the bib ive noticed the pressure points of the pillion seat have slightly added a sheen on my fender.
