Default Rituals, Routines, Superstitions? Let's hear 'em.

I admit to having some weird OCD tendencies in general, and some have translated to the bike.

In the garage my pre-ride ritual includes checking and setting the tire pressure to 40 rear and 36 front. Can't ride on an odd number like 39 psi...

I have a certain neighborhood pre-ride route to warm the tires and a side road where I do my tight figure-8. Every ride begins with the swerves and figure 8.

Don't even get me started on how I organize my detailing supplies.

Weird, yes. But I know there are other riders out there with their rituals, routines, and superstitions. Folks open up to me all the time in person about theirs...certain riding socks...visor cleaning...the classic Gremlin bells...

Let's hear 'em.

My ritual is to put the jiffystand down every time I park, and usually keep my toe on it till the bike is rested.

If I put something in my left side bag, I bend over with my butt toward the front of the bike. Maybe because I'm right handed.
I always turn my wheel to the left, when it's on the kickstand.
I wait to hear the alarm set, before I walk completely away from it.
When I sit down, I sit back up a little, to get the boys in the up front position.

I finish my beer. Nothing worse than coming home to a half-drank PBR.

Don't ever get on a bike unless all the heads of your cash in your wallet are lined up. Can't be ride'n down the road with an upside down president....it's just bad luck....

It's bad luck to be superstitious.

I always lock the ignition but hardly ever the fork lock.
Always take about 10 steps, turn around and look her over good. Usually go back and walk around, check a few things like saddle bag latches.
Look for anything loose....today I found the rear turn signal arms were moving around, so they got tightened.

I always look down to make sure my kickstand is fully deployed before getting off the bike.
