I have been a soldier for 22 years and I am still serving. Don't use the helmet excuse or it's Florida drivers, or it's the tourists. I have been stationed all over the world and it's the same everywhere you go. Quit the speculation and the back and forth banter about this guy and his wife. They have passed on and the only important thing is that we keep their memory in our hearts. I have seen plenty of things happen while being deployed (currently)and we don't sit around and say the stuff that is going on here. Let it be and move on, just make sure you do whatever you have to protect yourself. You say your wives don't ride because you don't want to orphan your kids, WTF!!!! Don't let her drive a car, get on a plane, walk down the street or breathe second hand smoke. It must suck to live your life in fear.
I was born and raised in Miami, Florida and if all the people here don't like the riding or the drivers, stay home and don't visit my great state. I won't miss you.
Bottom line up front: When it's your time and the man up stairstells you to pack your bags, just move out!!!!
I agree withe the statement that "tires just don't separate over night". Modern tubeless tires are very strong and are not going to fall apart under normal usage unless they are very old or under inflated.
Unless there is some proof that he hit something big enough to gash the tire, I would have to go with under inflation given that he wasfully loaded and running at high speed on the interstate.
And 211Chuck, you can tell from that picture that his tires are low? You are friggin' amazing! You could put all these stupid "guage" manufacturers out of business just by teaching the rest of us how to just merely glance at a tire and tell the pressure.
Yes I can and no one has to be a rocket scientist to see it either!

Sorry my friend, but the facts are most riders pay more attention to their chrome then they do their tires! and if this thread saves one life of a reader these peoples death will not be in vein!
I've wrenched motorcycles for over 40 years and every customers bike I work on I check the tire air pressures, they all range from totally flat (no air in them and they rode them in) or 20 PSI or less, the rare time they are just 5 LBS low..
......."BUT" they are "NEVER" at the correct air pressures!
Now that my friend is worth talking about if it helps make readers go out and check their tires before ever ride!
I thought this thread might get quite after I posted the
pictures. This thread needs to be at the top again though,
as it might save another readers life one day..
Hey Chuck, when you check those bike tires at your shop why do you bother with a guage? Can't you just look at them?
Yes sir, I sure can see them and tell their low. Iput the gauge on them because I like to see how foolish some people can be with their own lives as well as the lives of their loved ones!
I'm always amazed by how little regard people have for their own lives, but they will darn well make sure all the chrome is polished" and the paint is waxed" [sm=bangbang.gif]
I'm sure that no one here means any disrespect. Most of the advice is given to prevent anyone else from experiencing the same fate. Our thoughts and prayers go out to their family and friends. God Bless
