In my opinion wax "after" the salt won't help a bit. If it had been put on before the salt attack it might be beneficial. I would just rinse with alot of medium to low pressure water out of a garden hose and when I thought I had rinsed enough I would do it some more. Good luck.

Just make sure you get all the salt off. If it was waxed prior to winter weather then washing it should be a little easier. Salt left on chrome will pit it if left for a long time.

I have a sportster,I rinse it afterwards.I don't know how you would get to all the frame. But rinse and rerinse, specially underneath, wheelwells.I know I read threads where you would think salt is acid and gonna kill your bike in an hour,I know it;s not good, but I'm not parking my scoot for months at a time.I got my bike to ride. It's not a showpeice, just to be stared at.

Just my two cents but if you ride in salt there will always be some salt somewhere on your ride. Rinsing might get some of it off but in really it just gets the salt on your bike wet which starts the rusting process. Salt alone isn't bad, it's salt and moisture that does you in. Best bet, get a second bike for poor weather riding!
