I don't have a Road King, but I would vote for it. You get a touring frame, less weight and lower center of gravity than an Ultra, and less cost and buffeting than a Street Glide (at least with 2014s).

There is a reason I own a Road King - I can't afford 2-3 bikes right now.

Either a Dyna with quick detach bags and windshield(like mine lol) or a Road King with the same detach goodies.

I have never owned a softail or a a dyna, but I have had a sporty and loved it, but just not enough for the super long haul. I have a limited, but it is a big bike for just around town and I have a 04 RKC which DOES IT ALL. So for me best all around bike has got to be a ROAD KING. I would love a heritage springer though, I just love that bike.

I previously owned a Road King Classic and liked it a whole lot. However, I never removed the windshield or bags for rides and wonder how many actually do that. While it may not be a logical candidate as a do-it-all bike to some, I'd nominate my Electra Glide Classic. It not only does great on the interstates but is a blast to ride on the beautiful two lane rides that I love to ride in rural Virginia as well as the BRP. The Road King was nice, but I've quickly gotten hooked on all the extras that my Electra Glide brings to a ride. I thought that I'd get a quick-detach kit for the tour pak, but I've gotten hooked on all that extra storage, even for day rides. I wouldn't go back to a Road King...

I'd like to find an Evo FXRS Low Rider Convertible. Maybe not a cross country 800 mile a day two up bike but it's capable of day tripping and you can strip it in a few minutes and you have a Low Rider.
