Leaving for work this morning, turn onto the main road and start going. Hear a noise when upshifting. Turned around and parked it.
Got home and gave it the once over. No noise when shifting up or down while stationary.
No noise when clutch is engaged.
Took it for a spin and noise is still there. Only hear it when upshifting. Does not happen while downshifting. Does not happen when the clutch is engaged at any speed.
Only when my foot is on the shifter and the gear is changed up is this noise heard. And it only seems to happen when cold. After riding 15 min or so it goes away.
Checked all fluid levels and all is well. Clutch is adjusted per manual.
This is a high pitched squeal type of a sound, not "mechanical" sounding at all like grinding gears.
Is your belt too tight could be a bearing going out
hmmmm. Not sure why the belt would be tight - haven't messed with it. Something to check though....thanks for the suggestion. Added to the list for tomorrow.

On occasion my bike will have a squeal chirping sound on cool mornings when I start out and after a few minutes it will quiet down. I figured it was the belt being cooler. But this only happens on cooler mornings. If the temps are around 60 and above never hear it.
