It would really depend on which riding outfit you're going to buy to go with it. Don't want to clash, you know.

I'm not sure abot the 06 Dyna, but the 06 softail had problems witht he 8degree injectors. The injectors had to be replaced to a 25 degree injector. The replaced them for free, but I think that has expired. So, you may have to pay out of pocket for them now.
It is easy enough to tell, the injectors have a color coded band on them. Just research what color the band should be for a 25 degree injector.

Springer softtail is SO much nicer looking!
I also love the way they fit. Very comfortable bike; very unique riding position. I never had a springer, but years ago I had a standard softtail & miss it.

Neither. I would continue to save and get something newer.

I am in the same situation and while the shopping process is exciting, I can appreciate how much pressure you're putting on yourself to make the right decision. Just remember, whichever bike you choose will be better than no bike.

Really? 2006 doesn't seem very old...

With different bars, shorter exhaust and some nicer wheels you can't beat the Springer.

Hard to beat the handling of a softail plus you get the look of an old school hard tail.

Springer is my choice as well. Just not very into exposed shocks and love the hardtail look.

I wouldn't buy a 2006. It was a transition year. In addition to what was already mentioned, they also had an issue with the cam chain tensioner set up and the stator bolts like to back out and tear stuff up...Too many good deals on 07+ bikes out there....
