I am seriously considering buying the 2014 Limited and I have read about the problem with the water cooling. It seems to be well documented on this forum that there is a problem. Has there been any definitive solution to this problem or is it hit or miss? If anyone knows I would greatly appreciate being pointed in the right direction so that I can make an informed choice. I am going there tomorrow for a test ride.
One of the problems was the wrong radiator caps. Touring has a 20 psi cap V-Rod has a 12-15 psi cap. The V-Rod cap was sent for Touring bikes by mistake causing the leaks one case reported on here was from a faulty water pump. The posts about leaking bikes has slowed down if not stopped.
Every one that I have "talked" to have said their 2014 is the best Harley they have owned, myself included.
Keep in mind I've only had my Limited 4 days, but I don't regret it at all. Moved up from the Ultra Classic to this Limited, and its worth the extra 2k to buy the Limited. Heat is the biggest thing to me, this bike runs so much cooler.
We bought (2) Limited's. We traded in 2012's on the 2014's. Between my wife and I we have had 8 Limited's in 7 years. The 2014 is the best HD made. We would do it again. We love new Harley's.
We added to each; V&H header pipes, Rienhart mufflers, K&N screaming eagle air box, screaming eagle programmer, new longer front & back floor boards, longer heal/toe shifters, matching brake pedel, screaming eagle LED luggage rack & matching saddle bag racks, wind spliter windshields, alarm siren II with the remote, and new mirrors with the little wide angle window. LED lights coming this weekend at the LONE STAR RALLY.
I was told by a sales rep that the issue was due to backwards installation of temp guage - which caused seal to fail. Once they figured that out, problem solved. Can't validate this but they said that information came down from on high.
I have zero complaints with Limited. No coolant leaks, radio is fine, clutch recall done. I would rather have the old switches back on the bars and the cruise on the right but that is just cause I was used to the old configuration. Best bike I have ever ridden.

Buddy of mine just bought one too. He's had a few issues like glitchy bluetooth, ignition barrel lock stuck, the recall and so on. Pretty bike, and I've ridden it. Very nice ride. Only reason I'm chiming in is to remind you they are just released and newly retooled. Road testing and consumer reviews are still in their infancy. Question is do you want to be one of the test category or wait a few years for bugs to be ironed out? Personally if I were in the market I'd wait a year for them to get things straight (easier said than done if you want a bike now, I know). On the other hand you'll have the warranty so HD will make it right.
