NO COVER!!! In an answer to your question. Unless you are going to shrink wrap it like a boat. There is no way to keep a cover from flapping and rubbing the paint and chrome, trapping dirt and grit under the cover and making a mess. I would go no cover.
OR you could rent or buy then sell a covered trailer, the cost or loss on the sale is better than a messed up couple of bikes.

If i didn't have a closed in trailer, I'd buy one or rent a u-haul. No way would i get salt/sand all over my bike, and it would get all over it, even if there was a high stone guard on a open trailer.

Let's get real here. You are gonna trailer your bike behind a Motorhome. If you can afford a Motorhome and the fuel to run it you can afford an enclosed trailer. Get your butt on Craigslist and find a good used 6x10 enclosed trailer. That is plenty big enough for a full dresser.

here's one that will do. http://boise.craigslist.org/for/4191697559.html

Somewhere online I saw a 2 piece system.
A soft fleece liner, with a waterproof cover.
Fleece is no better than a nasty old vinyl tarp once the sand and grit gets in there.

There is no suitable way to cover a bike on an open trailer, unless the cover cannot touch the bike, but then it would essentially be an enclosed trailer...

I think the verdict is in....don't cover you bike in an open trailer and have a stone guard of some sort on the front of the trailer to protect it.

Home built stone guard on a Northern Tools trailer. Never cover a bike on a trailer.

Gee, I don't know where all this negativity comes from about the cover. My custom paint guy says it's OK just to use one of those blue plastic tarps.

Wow, I'm surprised a paint guy would say that. The airflow beats the tarp against the paint and by the end of the day your clear coat is quite scuffed.

Heck the clear coat on the sides of my tank is scuffed from blue jeans.
