Default Cover for trailering

We are headed to California coast this January, towing our bike behind the motorhome on an open trailer. Looking for good protection from the elements, road grime etc. I have seen a stretchable cover built for an Electra glide on elide goodies.com. It is a little pricey $280'ish. Waterproof and designed for use on open trailers. Worried about wind whip and rubbing and beating the bike up? Anybody out ther with some experience or that has one of these covers?

Thnks

If it were me, I wouldn't trailer it with a cover for the very reasons you specify. It would suck to have the flapping cover mar the finish on your bike. I would, however, make sure there's good protection at the front of the trailer to protect the bike from rocks and other flying debris.

Cover it you will be very sorry!!! Don't cover it and it will get dirty. Nothing works on a open trailer don't buy into that. Even if you shrinkwrap it like they do boats you will still damage it. Been there done that.

Some good advice here ... DO NOT COVER YOUR SCOOTER AND TOW IT ON AN OPEN TRAILER

Default Trailers

You would be better off to buy a small enclosed trailer for your bike.

Don't cover it. And with the rear view camera on the RV. You can keep an eye on it. Just have a rock guard on the front of the trailer.

Don't cover it. An open trailer must have a fairly high rock guard on the front on it...or do the smart thing and buy an enclosed. If you're just going to be jaunt one bike, a 6x10 or 6x12 is more than enough. Two baggers, 7x16 will do it. Good enclosed trailers (new and used) can be found really worth the money all most anywhere!

If you're going to be pulling the bike behind a motorhome regular, it's worth having!

Oh, AND DO NOT COVER IT!

I looked for years for a satisfactory cover and never found one. Stopped looking when I bought an enclosed trailer.

What he said...that's what I have done for decades. I have an open trailer with a piece of plywood (not a full sheet obviously) bolted in the front to keep stones and other crap from hitting the bike on longer trips. Never, ever, cover a bike on an open trailer...unless you're looking for a reason to repaint it.
