Default Where do you brake???

Where do you buy brake pads? My 2011 Blackline is getting the maintenance caught up and noticed my pads need to be changed soon. I want to save some coin but also want to support board sponsors if possible.

When I need some...and that may be in a few months...at the dealership. If this was in the 70s, I'd do it myself. Things and times have changed.

I agree with Chickin. Sometimes, at least for me, getting older means not doing some things myself that I would have done/did do decades ago. So I bought my pads at the stealer and had them installed by an Indy.

For the few dollars involved, it wasn't worth it to dig out my tools and install the pads out in the cold.

I will check prices of pads at the dealer. I have a heated garage with plenty of tools. Still enjoy doing my own work but I do understand your point. Sometimes it's just easier/quicker to let someone else do it. I didn't know if we had a forum sponsor who had good prices on parts.

I get most of my parts at a local Indy shop, has a fully stocked shop, he'll match online prices for ya. It's good to support local small businesses.

He'll also take the time to give you advice, help you out, even take you out to the back of his shop to show you something.

Lyndall brand brake pads....excellent product, plus made in the U.S.A.! It's good to support American made products.

I buy my EBC's from a local indy. They're made in the U.S. also but I think they're a British company.

I've bought most of my pads from motorcycle-superstore.com, and you can usually get decent prices at Dennis Kirk and J&P Cycles - J&P is listed as a sponsor. I think EBC and Lyndall pads give better feel and performance than stock pads, have used both. Pads are usually easy to replace; I wouldn't even think of letting someone else touch my brakes on any of my vehicles anyway.

With all the different materials available in the aftermarket and all the complaints about poor brakes I've heard,I stick to Harley pads and just look around for the best price .All of my bikes brakes work just fine with stock pads. However,if your rotors are not stock,I would seek recomendation from the manufacturer.Brake pads are not a place to save $10.Also,I don't need racing pads either.
