I have a set of HD fog lights mounted to my crashbar and I love them. I've read that there are aftermarket bulbs that are much better than the stockers. One I've heard of is a Sylvania Silverstar H3.
Is the Sylvania a good choice and is the H3 the correct one for these lights?
Checking to see if anybody has any updates or additional suggestions. I just installed Daymaker Headlamp and have dynamic ringz turn signals. Love them both but am looking together my HD Fog Lamps to cast ad whiter light as opposed to the traditional yellow.
I grabbed a set of the silver stars listed above at the local auto parts store today. They look real white and bright. I ride with them on all the time to stand out. Just hope they last.
I haven't tried them in a while, but Silver Star bulbs had a tendency to burn out within a year. Their "Ultra" bulbs were good for about 3 months longer. At their cost, I've given up and just rely on regular bulbs now days. Besides, HD bulbs are expensive enough, but they seem to last pretty good. After 2 1/2 years, and over 36,000 miles, I finally had one of my passing lamps burn out the other day. Went ahead and replaced both of them. At a total of $35.00 and some change.
If I could get 2 1/2 years out of any Silver Star, I'd give them a shot again.
