Moving to KC .....just trying to reach out to get to know the area, the dealers, the Indys and see if there are folks who like to ride etc....I don't know anyone.
Just trying to get some info and find out anything that would be helpful.
Yes I'm from there. Far from there. Left in 1969. All except for a few more Interstates it remains the same as far as I'm concerned. I headed south to get away from the winters there. -18ş when I left. Only problem is I didn't go far enough south. The Golden Ox in the stock yards used to be a great place to get a meal. Fancy cloths or work cloths they all rubbed elbows there.
I'm about an hour and half South of KC. Gail's HD on the Mo side, 2 or 3 others, Rawhide HD just off I 35, Worth's North of town on I 29, and Blue Ridge HD just off I 70. I bought my '12 Limited at Gail's. Good place and friendly people.
I know the area pretty well and can tell you as a rule bike prices are higher at Rawhide and Gails Harley Davidson. Gails is probably the most popular place as far as riding to a dealer to just look around and hang out at. Rawhide is in Olathe Ks which is in Johnson County. You will learn about Johnson County, the best way I know how to describe it is preppy. I still laugh when I remember what a guy said to his girl friend once. It was summer and the guy had on shorts with a pink shirt and the collar turned up. He also was wearing loafers with no socks. His girl friend was giving him a hard time about something and I could see he was getting aggravated with her. Finally when he had enough I heard him raise his voice and say chill out babe, chill out. I still laugh about it to this day, he just thought he was so cool.
I'm in Olathe. Johnson County to be specific. Pretty well everyone in JOCO is an *******. You'll learn to accept that.
The KC dealers are all garbage. Too many retards with more money than brains. You want a good deal on parts or a new ride, head for Topeka or Wichita. They'll actually work for your business and treat you like a human being.
Oklahoma Joes is great BBQ. Lots of decent Mexican places as well. There's some decent riding in the area once you get out of town. Ozarks are just a few hours away.
I like to ride north and west of Leavenworth. Lots of curves and hills. Kansas Hiway 5 from the old Woodlands dog track north to Leavenworth is lots of fun. There is plenty of good riding March thru November. PM me if you want. Have fun and welcome to the KC area.

I'm in Topeka about an hour west of KC. Not had good luck with the KC dealers but both the dealer in Wichita and Topeka HD are good shops. Rawhide seems to have a bunch of bikes and activity, been there several times just not a comfortable place to hang out.
Topeka here as well, and I must be "special" I guess. I actually prefer how I get treated at Worth's than how I get treated here in Topeka. Worth bent over backwards to get me a Harley. Topeka still gives me the "you have to ask price, you cant afford it" type treatment. The biggest thing to know about KC from my view anyway is NO HELMET needed on this side. That's the worst part of getting to or from anywhere in Missouri.
