I have both, and I prefer the amber for night driving in town (where there are street lights) and the clears for hwy driving. But that's just me.

I live in a very rural area (no city driving with street lights, etc.), and I use clear glasses 99% of the time, day and night.

I do carry a pair of 'smoked lens' glasses, mainly for use on very clear, sunny days when the sun is really beating down.

Amber on cloudy days or in town at night (as long as there is plenty of artifical light), Clear at night (when there is no light out in the coutry I can't see crap with the amber, Shades in the daylight.

I have the clear lens and tend to ride with those at night. Amber works well with plenty of light. Light sources can be somewhat of an issue where I live.

Go with amber. They are also excellent daytime shooting glasses.

I managed to break my normal riding glasses while offloading the bike at Daytona. I picked up a pair of Panoptix Transition lens glasses to replace the ones I borke, they work great.

I ride city and country at night everyday and i like the ambers forthe country, but I dont like them in the city looking thru the windshield. For me there is too many lights for amber. I'm going to try clear ones as soon as i get to theOakley store. I hope they work better. Save your self some bucks and try someone elses out before you buy

I have the streamline HD transition goggles (although they are smaller and look more like sunglasses) that automatically change from dark to light. I haven't had them too long but I've been very pleased so far. They are pricy though (about $150) ..but seem very well built and the air pads pop out if you want to also use them as sunglasses. They also come with HD croakies so you can adjust them tight or have something to hold em around your neck if you're not wearing them inside.
