Bad thing about screw clamps, they easily bite into the hose.
If you get the clamps for silicone hoses, they do not have the open gear and won't damage the hose.
What kind of clamps are you using? In the UK, screw clamps are called "Jubilee Clips" (no idea why) and the strap part of the clamp passes underneath the screw, between it and whatever it is you/re clamping. No damage possible from the screw itself.
Regardless of the type of clamp I have to remove on anything, it gets replaced with a stainless screw clamp going back together.
Crimp clamps are a PITA, and I don't think spring clamps provide enough force on a hose to keep them secure, especially on a pressurized system of any kind.
The old stand by screw type was made for heavy duty cast iron casting and thick hoses. The modern thin wall aluminum and plastic castings and thinner hoses work much better with the spring type. When you use the generic SS clamp type, you usually end up going back and retighten it over a period of time. The spring type just keep getting tighter as the hose gives way. Usually on second applications, I spread a thin film (so thin, you can see thru it) of RTV silicon on the fitting before I slide hose on. Do not film the inner hose. If any bead is rolled up, you want it to go to the outside.
