I think I read here in the Forum on a different thread, of things like getting the chit beat out of yourself by your own so called whip. I seem to remember another about it getting wrapped up on, or with something, that caused the rider to go down and die from his injuries. Whatever floats your boat though. It's not for me either.
I know what it's for! Few months ago,I saw a guy on a really sharp bike with this black leather whip hanging from the grip, dragging the ground-I swung my head around and said"WTF?" So,I guess,it's for people to ask questions about.
It's not a weapon, so I'm not sure why you'd get stopped for it. If your in a club, you're probably wearing colors, so it's not a secret. The vast majority of cops have no idea what a "get back whip" is anyway...or care. Use it as such and that's a different story.
It's kind of funny. How you gonna use your throttle hand to effectively use it as a weapon anyway? EVERYBODY totes a gun these days...Pulling a whip out on someone is a sure way to get shot or run over...But, whatever makes you happy.

I wasn't gonna mention that. Kinda like the earring left ear/right ear thing.
Now days....for what I have been told....it's hangs off your bike....when riding down the road the whipping around motion gets people attention ....makes it easier for you to be seen....I have seen them on Bikes....and it does get your attention....unless the Idiot is Texting....then they don't see anything
I do not care one iota about fashion or what statement anyone wants to make. I do know this: if that useless accoutrement gets wrapped around something and it will pull your handlebar, it will turn your wheel, and possibly ruin your day. Do what you want, I do not care.
I'm glad those opposed are saying they don't run with one- it's like cagers that don't like motorcycles because they heard of someone getting killed on one.
