No helmet law in Ohio they do not even sell them at Wal-Mart anymore. No one wants them I just put mine over one of the mirrors and leave it. In over 40 years have never had one taken I have over 10 of them and can’t even sell them at a garage sale. But **** has taken from my boat several times I guess boater aren’t as honest as bikers LOL

I seriously asking a question, not just going on a rant!
They might steal your helmet if they need one for themselves. if they want to sell it to turn a quick buck or maybe they will take your helmet just for the heck of it just to stir things up a little.

Had my Fully Customized Bad *** Heritage stolen from the parking lot of a Friday's about 10 years ago with my helmet sitting on the handlebars. Only thing left in the parking spot was the helmet.

A good used Shoei (I assume an Arai & others) will sell between $100-$180 on eBay.

Had my helmet, Gerbings gloves and prescription sunglasses stolen the other day. I was getting ready to leave this morning out of Chicago and thought I had left my helmet inside my brother's house and woke him up at 0500. We looked everywhere. Even in the garage. I turns out that I had remembered I left them all together in the alley. That was $800 out the window. I had to buy some helmet I dislike just for making my trip. I'm leaving tomorrow morning to try again.

Apparently, even if it's done accidentally, if you leave anything in an alley it gets stolen. Who knew? LoL

I shouldn't be laughing but what choice do I have?

I don't leave anything hanging or sitting on my bike that would **** me off if it disappeared.

Having BEEN an ABATE member back in the day, and fighting for choice, I was one of those who either dropped, slammed or bounced my crusty lid as a signal of contempt for the laws.IT. lived as a requirement, not as a function, and still saved my bean from losing an ear on a sandy Fla ramp, a concussion in a soper-induced fight, and a drunken slide in a race. So don't be so quick to demonize some scratches on a skid lid: the hype ain't all true. Its STILL better than nothing, so I ride (at 60+) aggressively yet with certain protections.that said, my Nov Lid did a fine job the day I was renamed" Road Rash" in a quick 30 mph splatt.-so did the chaps.

Back in the 70's when we had our helmet law that was what I told the LEO's the few times I got stopped for not wearing a skid lid. It worked most of the time the local LEO's knew better. Oh how I hated pulling that bucket over my ears when it was 95 degrees outside and all I wanted to hear were those straight pipes blasting away.

The sole reason why our "United Bikers of Maine" was formed to fight the untruthful statements by our politicians and get rid of that horrible law. Afterall it was all about Blackmail yet they lied to make it easier to railroad in the law. We won by a landslide.
