A helmet lock is only good if the thief doesn't have a knife to cut the strap. I have put mine in the trunk on the occasion when the voices in my head tell me to. A buddy of mine came out of a bar to find his helmet lying on the ground as a pile of melted mess. Some fine fella must have put a cigarette in it.
I rarely leave mine with my bike. Texas has no helmet law, but I learned to wear a helmet years ago when they were much heavier in another place.......if it's stolen I can get home without a ticket.
I had those on my heritage. They pins that hold the loop in place vibrated out and they fell off. just an fyi.
I have had one helmet stolen. It was left on bars. And a second one I locked on using the helmet lock from above and somebody cut the straps and left it on the seat. Just to be a vandal I suppose.
So I usually always carry mine in or put in bags.
I usually don't wear one except in the Winter or a trak up into north carolina. I leave y Modular on the seat or on the back rest. No one ever stole one. but this is not a helmet required state so that may mean something. I see helmets on bikes hanging off the bars all the time
A sport bike rider might take a $500 helmet. I would not know the difference. Mine are cheapo $200 modular and 3/4 Bells from Revzilla.
formed to fight the untruthful statements by our politicians.
Statements like helmets help prevent injury? Help save lives, reduce injury, etc?

Jeezus just get a coiled cable and lock and wrap it around the chin card. I usually lock it to my (locked) backrest, or since the cable is thin enough, through the mirror stem slot. I think its long enough to use the engine guard and hang it from my 13" ape handgrip.
I run into the same problem. I hate leaving the helmets on the bikes bc of potential theft. I think a lot of people leave their helmet on their bikes unlocked bc they might just be cheap helmets and no one would steal it, lol.... Just guessing

Unless you have a full face, how do you lock it? I miss my metric sport bike days. The engineers had common sense and had built in helmet locks. Does harley actually think all riders don't wear helmets?

Carrying helmets is lame as f*ck.
Ha ha. when I was younger I definitely carried my helmet into the bar, etc. that got me a lot of pu)sy Lol
Nowadays, yeah it's lame if you don't have a reason to carry it, but in the part of the country I live in, they would probably steal your helmet for the hell of it lol
You guys that are worried about carrying a helmet into a bar need to come to Texas....no one will say anything to you and if they do, it won't be because you're carrying a helmet....
