Arai...That reminds me...sometimes we take a couple of bicycle cable locks that we can run through sleeves of jackets and openings of full-face helmets when we're on trips and all the bags are full when we stop...
Leave mine on the sissy bar all the time. BUT it is a scratched up cheap half helmet.
If someone stole it I would have to think it would be out of pure asinine meanness by some punk and not for the value of it.
I've lost 1 since 1974. It was nasty, smelly, with stickers and dirt all on it. I was at a festival standing 45ish feet away. I looked it was there, 15 minutes later it was gone. I figure it's hanging on a kids wall. I would know it if I see it. I was pissed. It took 12 years to break that helmet in.
In the 70's we would hang them on the bars until somebody dropped a lit cigarette into my buddys.
Considering a good used, older Shoei gets at least $100 on eBay/CL/hdforums and a used newer one gets $150-$200, I always lock mine with a cable around the chin guard and loop the cable around several different points on the bike.
Guys with near-useless, POS non-dot skullcaps, why even bother commenting? lol.
I bought the Hd helmet lock 2 bikes ago and transfer it to the new bike. Most time wifes goes into the tourpack with the rest of her sh*t and mine goes on the lock. Cheap insurance for $15
We ride with Schuberth C3 Pros with bluetooth communications, about $1,100 each. Leave on seats places we know. Put in tour pack at rallys and questionable locales. Never had a helmet stolen. Knock on wood.

If you don't have a helmet lock on the bike or a trunk they'll fit then pick up a cheap cable gun lock. Usually about $5. Or check with your local police dept. A couple of years ago a lot of police depts were giving away cable locks.
Here's what they look like. http://www.masterlocks.com/product/3...red-cable-lock
