A pic of my 1985 FXRS, original except for Vance & Hines exhaust and Progressive shocks. Everything else, including paint, seat, etc. is just as it came from the factory 29 years ago (windshield is gone). A couple of weeks ago I asked for opinions about buying a 15K mile 100th Anniv. model Peace Officer model Road King for 9 grand and getting rid of the FXR....opinions were closely divided with the FXR having a slight edge. I'd like to have both, but that's not possible at this time. Plus, I'm a one-bike kinda guy. Anyway, thanks for your input...I don't usually ask for opinions. I'm still considering the 88" Road King, but really leaning toward keeping the FXRS as most have been over-modified over the years.

I can't even believe you're considering this move. I guarantee that you will regret getting rid of your FXR. Just say no.
I own a 2010 Street Glide and a '93 FXR. If I had to choose only one bike to keep, it would be the FXR. Don't get me wrong...the Street Glide is a nice bike to cover long distances with, but it is a pig compared to the FXR in the handling department.
coming from someone who has owned both , i currently own a RK Pol!ce myself..I like riding my RK..I enjoyed my old fxr for what it was too , but they are different bikes with different characteristics ..I do still kick myself for getting rid of the fxr , wish i had held onto both honestly but it wasn't in the cards for me at the time..Still i dont regret my decision...
The first rule of Harley club is... You do NOT sell an FXR to get a different bike. You only sell an FXR if you're getting out of riding completely, or some really, really serious **** causes you to need the money THAT badly.
my first hd was an 87 fxr and it was sweet. i traded it in on a new bike and so on. it is the only bike i wish i still had. Thats a true story and you will here alot of those stories about fxr and if you trade yours you too will most likely say the same thing.
my current bike is 06 dyna that i bought new off the show floor. i dont plan to sell it or trade it but at some point will probably add another bike
