Default paint touch-up

I have a 2014 Tri-Glide. Got a scratch. Color is Blackened Cayene. Ordered touch-up paint from H-D. Came in two bottles. One Black and one red.
How and in what order am I to apply these two colors?

depending on how deep the scratch is, I would try having a body shop buff it out first. IMHO, touch up paint looks worse than the scratch.

Yeah, he's right. Been down that road, and the touch up paint does look worse than the scratch. I know the first scratch is always the deepest, emotionally anyway. But there are a lot of scratch removal products that can work wonders.

I bought big blue pearl touch up. Comes with black and a pearl clear magic color. Paint the black on and let dry, then apply the clear and it turns blue. Strange. I made the parts guy prove it was right. I owe him lunch.
