Greetings everyone. I'm looking at buying my first H-D, and wanted to get some input from some of the more "seasoned" riders out there.
Looking at a '06 Super Glide 35th anniversary. Only 2k miles and in great condition. Dealer's bottom line is $11,500 "out the door" (all taxes, etc included). I fell in love with this bike when I saw it. I don't see alot about this bike out there.
Anyone with any input on this. Just want to make sure I'm getting a decent deal for this bike or if I should keep looking. Thanks!
I'm not usually a fan of white bikes in general, but I absolutely love that paint scheme. Dealer near me had one on the floor last time I was in and I kept going back and looking at it. Price seems pretty decent compared to what I see here in NH. I was looking at an '11 SG Custom with 1200 miles on it, all stock, and they were asking $11,995 or something like that, which would make it roughly $12,800 or so out the door with taxes, tags, etc.
Man I wouldn't let the door hit me in the ***,
as I was leaving my house to go buy it !!!!!
Now welcome to the HDForum from central Texas,
and post some pics of the new to you bike, asap.
As I recall 06 was the first year Dyna's got the 6 speed gearbox which also had problems with the bearings or something, no doubt a Dyna fan will come on with more info on that, nice looking bike though.
Just another thought its an 88 engine, and its a long way off with only 2,000 on the clock but if you buy it make sure you check the Camm Tensioners at around 20,000 miles as some of them have been known to break up and can destroy the engine, there's a lot of info on here about that if you look, also you could try posting in the Dyna forum see what those guys say, know a guy here in the UK with the same model and paint scheme he's very pleased with his, and they are quite rare in those colours, like the original but without that ugly boat tail rear fender.
