looking into buying a harley !!! have sone questions
Well I am looking into buying a harley. I have rode lots of bikes and have countless hours on dirt. I am thinking harley will be my next bike. Im looking at buying ither a 2012 dyna wide glide or possibly a street glide. I wanted to hear thoughts on both
For sure, try them both out. They ride and handle totally different. When you get done test riding them, test ride a Road King. My $0.02. Welcome to the Forums.

I have one of each (King and a WideGlide) in a late model bike. As much as I like the King (Momma does too) I have a hard time not taking the Wide Glide out for the day. I've yet to hear her say she didn't wanta go cause the Dnya was going.
For the record we ain't young kids....LOL
If I wanted the best bang for my buck a Superglide is the iconic Harley. Lots of mods available....
Those are two totally different bikes that have been designed for two totally different purposes. It isn't about which is better. It's about which one is more suited to what you are looking for in a motorcycle. What is your budget? What kind of riding do you do? Have you ridden either? Are you looking to buy used or new? Those are questions only you can answer and once you do I think you will get more answers and opinions

Yea, my last bike prior to my first HD was a full-on dirt DRZ400 that I managed to get tagged/titled sos I could ride Forest Service fire roads. 95% of my motorcycle experience has been spent on dirt. IMHO, I think you'll be more comfortable on a Dyna, particularly if this is your first heavy street bike. I certianly was. Don't think for a second even a Dyna at 600 lbs will handle anything like a 250 lb dirt bike.
The dealer usually has demo models that you can test drive and most also have demo days where they have all their bikes out for test rides. Like others have said, ride/test each bike as they are different animals. Also, depends on what you plan on doing with the bike, day rides, over nighters or longer trips. The Dyna is more suited for day rides while the street glide or a Road King would be more suited for longer trips. Good luck with your decision.
