New Member ISO advice on handling Harley Davidson Financial
I bought my bike as a christmas present to myself. So far, I've had two payments due and one due in three days. My first bill arrived after the payment due date, causing me to be late. My second bill arrived three weeks before the due date, allowing me to pay on-time. My most recent payment is due in three days and I have not yet received my bill.
Upon calling HD Financial Services (Eagle-something bank) the woman said they had some sort of error with the statements and they have not been sent out. When I asked her how I was supposed to pay my bill, she started giving me directions on how to log-in and pay online. I stopped her short and pointed out that all financial transactions (including loan payments) should have a written record. She then told me "Statements are a courtesy, not a requirement."
How is it that any respectable bank does not send out monthly loan statements? Does anyone have any advice that they can offer me about how to avoid this sort of nonsense in the future?
Welcome to the forums! I went online and set up the automatic bank draft. I get email confirmation for my records and can log in at any time to print off statements. Eazy peazy.
This is what I did; paid my first bill a tad early then set up billpay through my BofA and pay my payment in 4 weekly payments. You will save a ton in interest over the life of the loan. My payment was $400 a month, I paid $100 a week plus an extra $25 towards principle. It will make a huge difference.

This ^^^^ and I created a folder for the statements on my computer and can pull any of them up at any given time. Don't make it harder than it is and wreck your credit.
