Default Bad News or Good News?

It could go either way I suppose. Signed up the Mrs. and her friend for the HD Garage Party in Grande Prairie AB. Reason being, I just picked up a SGS this year (7km only damn winter) and figured she might learn some basics on bikes. Well, that she did. She came out of there, full of **** and vinegar and wants to ride her own bike now. She likes the Sportster 883 super low which is good cause she's only 5'2". Told her thats fine but you're taking a bike course. Guess I created a monster...

Good. Don't be surprised if she ends up being a better rider than you. Women generally have better fine motor skills then men. (when they're not overly nervous)

Yep...double-edged sword ya started. Get her a used XLH883 (Hugger) to learn on vs. new. No need to be dumping a new scoot all over the place, or could be fun for you with all the repairs...

good news for the extra curricular activities, bad news for the wallet... my wife rides and we both love it, she started out on a GZ250 then her xl883l now she rides a slim which sits lower then the sporty and it easier for her to control and is more stable then even my dyna custom...

congrats to both of you, it will open so many new doors for the 2 of you to explore

Thanks for everyones replies. I'm kinda looking forward to it actually. We already ride sleds together with our son, so now we have something to do in the summer. I guess if you find your best friend, you want to be around them all the time. Plus, I get "benefits".

My wife has been riding her own for 20 years now and she's a very good rider. She's also 5'2". About a year ago she and one of her girlfriends each bought a new Sportster. The friend opted for a Superlow while my wife got a 1200C with standard height suspension. She put a reach seat on it to make up for the higher suspension. My wife's bike turned out to be a much better choice for riding on twisty roads. The Superlow drags it pegs quite easily.

Good Luck

Now you've always got a riding partner and she will understand when you tell that you have to go for a ride to clear your head. Congrats

My wife started on a Rebel 250, now she rides her Fatboy Lo.
I hate to say that she has fallen a few times, but nothing major. She gets right back on a keeps going. She's 5'3", so the Lo is a good fit, just a bit heavier than a Sporty.
Have fun riding together, it is a blast!!
