if you guys are looking over the windshield and not thru it and are complaining about helmet vibration and noise than why not eliminate the windshield you don't really need it with afull face lid anyway!!!! put a 3" shield on if you need one this should solve your dilemma! no? yes?
I have an Ultra (duh), and change windshields based on the weather.. 12" for winter, 9.5" for early spring and late fall, 6.5" for summer. I wear a half helmet 98% off the time, full face (HD) helmet when it drops below 20 degrees. I've never had any buffeting or wind problems. My wife HAD a problem riding with me. She had a visor on her 1/2 helmet. We found teh wind was catching underneath the lip. Took it off, no more problems.
When I ride her Deluxe with a std height windshield, I get about the same results.
