It didn't work out for me, but everyone's outcome is different.
I'm sorry to hear they were so hard on you bro. But thanks for posting. It's horror stories like this that have kept me far away from outlaw gangs like HOG. They can keep their 1%'er lifestyle to themselves. I will not give them the chance to spank my *** at one of their rally's, no siree!
Im a member, renew and occasionally attend meeting. We do some fun rides and do a lot of stuff at the dealership events. So I enjoy it.
I posted about this once and got nothing but negative responses. Too many trolls on here, so I dont usually bring it up. To each their own. I'd say check it out, maybe go to a meeting or attend a ride. If its not for you, its all good. But for the $20ish a year for roadside, its not a bad deal.
Thanks for all the reply's guys! I'll check out our local chapter and see what its about, my buddy is a member, so maybe I can tag along with him....he says its great? I guess its like everything else, you get out of it what you put in it.....=) I am with AT&T.....
I saved way over the $20 membership fee in saving off of nights at Best Western motels. I don't always stay there if I find something else cheaper. But with the 10% discount I get for being a HOG member at Best Western, the free tow, the magazine, etc. I think it is worth it. I have wanted to try and do some of the HOG stuff at the dealer, but haven't to date. seems I'm busy when they do stuff. Plus it is 75 miles away. But someday I will try it.

Just remember. The hangaround period is the honeymoon period. You get talked into it and you are in for a rough yet potentially rewarding time. Prospecting for HOG is more than just waiting out the 4-6 weeks delivery of your center patch. As a prospect you will be expected to drive the minivan to Applebees if there is a slight drizzle. Holding the metal clipboard for the president's wife, and helping some of the senior member find neutral and reminding them to try the killswitch when their bikes won't start. But hang in there and in no time you could be going to your kid's PTA meeting in full colors. Just a note about the free towing everyone uses as an excuse to join: Modern Harleys are pretty reliable (minus the Rushmores that like to spew coolant). Remember to turn your ignition off, keep your tires properly inflated, check your fluids, and check your fuel gauge and you shouldn't have to need a wrecker unless you have a Wild Hogs moment.
Honestly you need to check it out for yourself to find out wether it's right for you or not. I love the mag plus the various discounts and tow package make it a good fit for me. I don't belong to a local chapter cause I tried em and it's not my cup o' tea.

LOL! Sometimes it's hard to tell who the real posers are...
I'm a member and an officer in the local chapter. Obviously, I think it's worthwhile or I wouldn't have taken the officer position. As for riding skills, time in the saddle, etc., I would bet there are some members in our chapter who outdo most of those "haters and trolls" who act so tough on here, and still find time for the meetings and socials. I like to ride, but those folks put me to shame!
