Here's some cheap stickers I slapped on my very pricey Arai Signet Q to try to tone down the branding. haha. They are removable, but I'm running them now just for the fun of it.
On nice days like today in L.A. I also take off the face shield and the neck roll.
I've been using the Shoie Qwest. I have a narrow head and oddly enough the Aria fit nearly the same (don't think this is typical). Since you mention design, I went with black (might have loved white as well) and added highly reflective stickers (checkers) and painted the 13 (my Slim is a 2013) using Sharpie Paint pens (oil based). Just a idea.

Great job, Rust. Did you use a stencil to get the numbers so clean?

Yes, actually my girlfriend did (she's crafty like that)
I used the website DaFont.com to find a font I wanted. It might be the best font site out there. Once I had what I wanted I used a program (adobe illustrator) to size the numbers (I test printed to see what it would look like on the helmet). Once I got the right size I took pencil and traced the numbers on the back side of the paper. Then you take your image and with the pencil side against the helmet you take it there. Then you use your pencil to rub/draw/scribble over the image which them transfers the penciled numbers to the helmet. Once completed you can then take paint pen and fill in. Do be careful with paint pens, you must get oil based to resist water and they can leak/drip when using. You can however clean up the mistake when the paint is still wet.
I was thinking of going with a solid colored Arai, but wanted something more visible. Kinda wishing I had gone solid white, so I could try different paint schemes on top of it and still be visible.
Where it stands now, I'm hesitant to take any paint to the lid just because I don't want to decrease its value should I decide to sell it. Hence the temporary stickers.
It really is a great helmet though. I just wish it was painted a little less sport bike like and didn't have so much branding.
I went so far as to get a quote from a guy who does FF paint jobs to your design. But it was like 400 bucks. He says painting a full is basically like painting a tank or fender.
The only thing you may have an issue with SLIM is that your helmet has a clear coat, mine doesn't. Not sure you will see the pencil makings once transferred but you might be able to use a carbon paper and trace what you want to the helmet..
Now that we have sort of hi-jacked the thread I think I'll start a new one on custom painted helmets, must be some good ideas out there.
.. now back to the regular scheduled program.. Aria Helmets

Arai is what I wore during my 3 & 4 wheeler days. I've bought a total of 3 since 92 & won I at a raffle. It was a high dollar racing helmet with special graphics. Still got it in my closet.
I wear a full face Arai most of the time. Every once in a while, I'll put on a 3/4 or half, but I never feel comfortable in those. If you're worried about looks more than safety, don't get the Arai. It's not going to look as cool. But if you're more worried about what will happen if you hit your head, an Arai full face is a good way to go. Of course there are great less expensive alternatives too.
