Talking Damn Harleys are sellin' like HOT CAKES here! Rushmore?

I was at a couple of dealers, but went in today and saw that they had people buying parts, trying out bikes, and trollin' around to pick up rides. They had two people actually 'buying' bikes and just was crazy how much foot traffic there has been. I picked up my bike last week and I guess the California weather has everyone in a 'riding mood'. Hopefully HD keeps it's quality and customer service up. Keeping my fingers crossed that my 14 SGS is a reliable bike...i'll tell you the technology sometimes worries me. My old Dyna was super simple, this sucker has wires all over the place.

A few days ago, HD stock did well too!

(4/2014) NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Harley-Davidson (HOG_) was gaining 7.2% to $72.50 in premarket trading Tuesday after posting a higher-than-expected profit for the first quarter.
For the first quarter the motorcycle maker reported earnings of $1.21 a share, beating estimates of $1.08 a share by 13 cents. Revenue grew 22.7% from the year-ago quarter to $1.73 billion. Analysts surveyed by Thomson Reuters expected revenue of $1.53 billion.
The company said it sold 57,415 new motorcycles in the first quarter, a 5.8% increase from the year-ago period. Sales increased by 3% to 35,370 in the U.S. in the quarter.

Looking to the rest of 2014 Harley-Davidson maintained is forecast of 279,000 to 284,000 motorcycles shipped by the end of the year.

Sounds like Spring fever, glad I bought mine in January. All those customers are paying MSRP and then some.

The local dealer confirms the same info. They sold 119 in March (#5 in the nation) when it is not unheard of for there to be snow showers forecasted several times a month here. Their biggest month will be June which by then they will be low on stock. We toured their storage area 2 weeks ago and saw about 150 bikes waiting to hit the showroom floor.

All winter, you could barely walk back to the parts department, for all the bikes on the floor. At least 20 new bikes & at least 10 used. Haven't been in since the weather's gotten nice, so don't know whether they've moved any.

Glad I bought my Super Glide in September. Seems like the prices on CL have jumped a bunch in the last month or so.

Yep got mine back in Jan when they had $1000 off 2013's. Then the guy gave me $1000 more for my trade, so I didn't really loose any on the old bike and got a good deal with the new one too.

Marketing ploy. I do agree though. I'm actually surprised that this forum made a separate section for Rushmore models. If it's a tourer, put it in the touring section. Now if someone has a 1995 road king, a 2005 ultra and a 2014 limited in their stalls they have to go to three different sections.

The dealership I was at yesterday was slow and very few bike buying customers. But the service department was busy, busy.

I just looked up the used value of mine, and I swear it seems like it jumped 1k between winter and now.

Great news! Now when I need another softail I know Harley will still be around selling motorcycles.
