I wore helmets in the Military for over two decades (M1, Kevlar Pasgt, Mich) and all sorts of bike helmets from Bell full face, dot 3/4 helmets, non dot half helmets, bandanas etc and I've never found anything I would call comfortable.
Is the OP interested in comfort and protecting his head or just looking cool? A 29.95 helmet may look cool, but with the exception of compliance to state law and a 30.00 helmet may not even do that you may as well just wear a ball cap for all the good it will do ya
I have an scorpion EXO-110 that i really like. During colder periods i add the ear pads or when i have my comm mounted. the flip down visor is great for rainy days it helps keep the rain off my riding glasses. Everytime i flip that sun visor down i seem to always hear the "speed racer" theme, funny childhood memory i guess.

I'm thinking the OP is just trying to be legal in his new state.
I don't mean to hijack the thread, but does the Akoury have more of an oval shape or round shape? A lot of people on here seem to like them and I'm looking for a new one. I have a Skid Lid now and it fits great. Thanks in advance.
My opinion is my Akoury AK-88 is a little more oval. I'm basing this on my two older Outlaw Ultra Low models that were recalled and don't pass DOT regs anymore. This Akoury is more comfortable than my Outlaws, probably due to the bit more padding and oval shape. The Old Outlaws pushed harder on my forehead, thus my opinion of the Akoury being more oval. The newer Outlaws Ultra Slims are not as low profile and have a bit more padding than the older ones but I've never tried one on since I'm pretty satisfied with the AK-88 and looks to be the lowest profile currently on the market.
For a 3/4 helmet I'm liking my new model Bell Custom 500.
I had an Outlaw 1/2 helmet that was comfortable. Now I have a Fulmer 1/2 and an unidentified FF. The FF was given to me by a friend who wore it once and then let it sit. It's not particularly comfortable, but on cold days I can at least feel my face.
